Genesis of the Program

Every third person in an Indian city today is a youth. In about seven years, the median individual in India will be 29 years, making it the youngest country in the world. Its large youth population could potentially make India the biggest work force in the world. It is a matter of pride that our country has unimaginable potential to lead the world. To make sure that this actually happens, we need to ensure that there are ample job opportunities for the youth of the country. However, the bigger challenge will be to match the skills of job seekers with the requirements of the job opportunities. 

Today, the corporate India is experiencing a huge dilemma, they have job opportunities but they are unable to find people with right set of skills to fill those vacancies. Many higher education institutes lack expertise, exposure and vision to deliver quality education and industry relevant learning to make students ready for the industry. All these institutes make tall claims but only a few of them actually walk their talk. In such a scenario, students end up getting confused about the college/ university that they should select and ultimately end up making a wrong choice for their career. Such students, after finishing their programs often find that they lack in competency and right skill sets to be able to get recruited in the industry. 

To address this problem, Punjab Technical University, a Punjab State Government University, has started its "University Campus Program" for delivering high class engineering education that will match the best quality standards in the country. This full-time engineering course will be offered at various campuses of the university that are spread across the state and have all modern facilities and state of the art infrastructure.
